The Ashaway Free Public Library located in Ashaway, RI is a social epicenter of the community, functioning not only as a library, but as a community center. The original school house, built in 1871, was moved to the current site in 1907, with additions added in the 1960's and 1980's. A group intervention of the Ashaway Library stemmed from the idea of natural light as a way to mesh the social nature of the community of Ashaway, as well as to illustrate the power of knowledge and enlightenment.
